Other "essential" mods include A Quality World Map, which makes the game's map screen higher-resolution or enables replacement with a paper map, and Realistic Humanoid Movement Speed, which adjusts the player's movement speed to make walking faster and running slower. SkyUI, which completely redesigns the game's menu screen to make it easier to use, as well as providing menu systems for other mods, is also a popular and highly recommended mod. One exists for both the main game and the official High Resolution textures patch. Some of the most basic and commonly used mods are the Unofficial Skyrim Patches, which simply address "a huge amount of bugs the official patches don't". Fans were also able to create an unofficial modding scene for the Nintendo Switch. These mods made their way to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 with the release of Skyrim Special Edition. Valve Corporation walked back its attempts to add paid mods to Skyrim, after backlash from fans. Skyrim mods are largely free to download. Skyrim modding refers to the community-made modifications for the 2011 fantasy role-playing video game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Good to know.User-generated creations for the 2011 video game Skyrim I didn't even know you CAN assign your weapons to number keys. I have installed SkyUI 2.2, which seems to work reasonably well with the Special Edition, minus the SKSE aspects of the mod, but hotkeys don't seem to work whether I have the mod activated or not.Īny help would be much appreciated, even if it involves me realising that it didn't work due to user stupidity.According to the last reply in this thread, you need to disable SkyUI before assigning your numbers keys: I don't think I've got any mods that should screw with the hotkeys. However, when I press a number key, nothing happens. From what I've found online, I should be able to go to my Favourites list, click on an entry and then press a number key (1-8), which should result in that entry being assigned to that key. One thing that's confusing me, though: it seems that hotkeys don't work for me, or I'm doing it wrong.

I'm about to get started on Skyrim SE and I spent some time over the weekend installing mods and reacquainting myself with the game (I played Skyrim years ago but never finished it due to a showstopper of a mod-related bug).
